Creative Circular Artist: Rhona Byrne

Dublin-based Rhona Byrne has won the Creative Circular Artist trophy at the Full Circle Awards!

Securing a prize of €2,000 at the launch of Circular.ie, Rhona’s ‘Restless: Liffey Love’ artwork stunned our judges, who said:

“Rhona demonstrates exceptional technical skills and imagination in her work, inviting dialogue about sustainability. Her work pushes creative boundaries in turning unwanted materials like plastic through works like Restless: Liffey Love. These interactive works not only appeal visually by telling a compelling story, but as public sculptures also give a wide reach and impact.”

Rhona’s artpiece is part of Liffey Love, a public art initiative in Dublin that transforms plastic waste rescued from the River Liffey into interactive sculptures.

The Full Circle Awards is a new initiative designed by Circular.ie to honour and celebrate the incredible efforts of everyday people who are driving positive change through circular living.

We invited people across the country for nominations to our Full Circle Awards — ordinary individuals making an extraordinary impact by promoting reuse, repair, recycling, and sustainable living in their communities.

With €2,000 available for winners of our six categories, along with personalised expert mentoring to help amplify their circular initiatives, the Full Circle Awards highlight the creativity, commitment, and drive among circular champions across Ireland.
