Join us at our Halloween themed clothes swap event where we will gather to swap up to 5 pre-loved items in exchange for another 5 new wardrobe pieces.
This swap will also include items Halloween costumes donated from the St.Finians GAA club showcasing collaboration in the community to reduce textile waste And increase the re-use of materials.
We will have a slightly longer run time for this special event until 2pm!
We will have Halloween costumes for kids and adults as well as our regular swap items!
We will include our repair corner where local community menders will offer repair tricks and techniques such as DIY scrunchies from scrap fabric, fixing minor repairs, and hand sewing (we have a sewing machine on site) !
Climate Ambassador Emma, and Clare and Alex from An Taisce, and other volunteers will focus on sustainably made Halloween decorations such as DIY Halloween wreaths, pumpkins, and capes!! Feel free to bring your own ideas too and let's mend and make sustainable decorations together!
Items not accepted for swapping: pyjamas, underwear, heavily stained items, swimming suits!
We also have too much kids clothing so we ask that you could bring these to a kid's swap instead.
Please bring clean items to the swap and remember to take some things home as this is about the circular economy and keeping clothes redistributed in the community and out of landfill ♻️
We will have tea and coffee on site and some snacks to share.
This event is suitable for all ages.
We really need some more men's clothes so if you can bring some that would be fantastic to grow our men's corner!
If you want to help us set up please arrive outside centre at 10am. We always welcome an extra hand with set up or close down at 2pm.
There is free parking outside the centre but full (as it is a busy club) there is parking across the road on the green, or at ALDI. The 102, 41c and 500 also stop outside the centre (2 minute walk).
Thanks so much!
