Bring along a garment that needs a little repair, an alteration, or simply a bit of imagination! Tamara, textile artist and upcycler, and Sari, a young tailor, will be on hand to help you mend, stitch, alter, customise or completely transform your textiles.
We’ll mainly be working with hand sewing, with a sewing machine available for small alterations and projects. Turn an old pair of jeans into a bag, transform shirts into something new, add a patch, fix a tear or simply learn a few useful sewing skills.
Some larger repairs or alterations may need to be taken home and completed afterwards, but the aim is always to share skills, ideas and possibilities.
This is not a formal sewing class — it’s a space to drop in, make, learn, chat and connect.
Come with a garment, a creative idea or simply curiosity. No experience necessary. Donations are welcome and help us keep the workshop accessible and community-led.
