Take a jaunt along the Dun Laoghaire Charity Shop Trail and bring your treasures to the Carnegie library, where you'll learn how to transform it to fit you!
Our free Upcycle and Alteration Station will be running in the library from 11am - 4pm. From hemming to alterations to just jazzing it up, we're here to teach you the tricks of the trade to make your charity shop finds truly your own.
Bookings:Registration is required for this free community repair event.We’ve split the day into sessions to space out the crowds:- Morning session (11 AM–1:30 PM)- Afternoon session (1:30 PM–4 PM)
Each repair slot is around 30-50 minutes. Book into the session that works for you.Alterations are on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. You are invited to explore our collection of repair books for inspiration, or contribute to our communal sewing project while you wait!
As these free community events can be quite busy, and we want to ensure everyone is able to join in the fun, we are only able to work on one alteration per person.

This free event is part of a new partnership between Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Rediscovery Centre, that, among other things, will establish a Rediscovery Centre hub in the heart of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown to mobilise local action.
