ECO - LAB is an 8-day Environmental Art collaboration between Sean Corcoran and Sarah Roberts @sarahroberts_official . They will create Temporary Art using post-consumer items and capture the process with Time Lapse and Stop Motion. Members of the public are welcome to join Sean and Sarah throughout their 8-day collaboration.
Take Part! If you would like to participate in the art making, please bring along some surplus items from your home including toy parts, marbles, buttons, beads, costume jewellery, old sunglasses, old keys, unwanted watches, old CD’s and so on. We cannot use sharp things, large things, tiles, crockery or dirty items.
And yes, these are temporary artworks! Everything that is created will be taken apart afterwards. In a consumer society these temporary artworks help participants to let go of attachment and to consider creative ways to reuse or recycle things. Circularity!
Sarah will be on hand throughout each of the 8-days as an artist in residence (thanks to @talamh_nua Nua) throughout the ECO - LAB project. Sean and Sarah will often be brainstorming remotely rather than face-to-face as Sean will be ‘on tour’ around Wexford, Kilkenny, Cork and Waterford with a van full of treasure for other projects! More of this soon!
However, not to be missed, on Friday the 13th (unlucky for some) Sean and Sarah will go head-to-head at The Art Hand on the most adventurous part of their collaboration. Members of the public are welcome to attend on that day from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Can’t visit the ECO - LAB? A short film of the 8-day experimental collaboration will be released afterwards.
ECO - LAB is located at The Art Hand on The Copper Coast in Waterford X42 PY92.
Send a message to 087 4749878 via WhatsApp to arrange a visit during daylight hours on any of the 8-days from November 7th to 14th inclusive.
This project is part of #IrishDesignWeek thanks to @irish_designweek @dccireland Thanks to Eibhlin and Gordon from @circular_ie_ for their assistance with this project.
