Getting Started
Ditch single use bottles and cups

Every year in Ireland, millions of us reach for single-use bottles and cups. But here's something simple that adds up fast: switching to reusable.
Why your wallet will thank you
Irish adults spend more than €200 a year on bottled water. By choosing reusable bottles and cups instead of single-use plastics, your pocket can feel the benefit.
The environmental reality
In Ireland, it is estimated that 220,000 single use plastic water bottles and 550,000 coffee cups are generated every day. It takes more water to produce a plastic bottle than it can hold. So by switching, you're not just avoiding plastic waste, you're also conserving water.
If everyone in Ireland switched to reusable cups and bottles
We'd save money on purchasing and discarding needless single-use bottles and cups
We’d avoid coffee cup litter, which is found in ⅓ of all litter survey sites
We’d save the equivalent of 100,000 litres of oil per day on bottles, enough to heat more than 55 homes for a year
